Cape Point
A spectacular sight that includes sheer cliffs towering up to 200m above sea-levels. The area is rich in biodiversity and history. Take a gentle hike to the 2 lighthouses or use the funicular, The Flying Dutchman.
Table Mountain
No trip is completed without a trip up the iconic, Table Mountain. You can either take the cableway to the top or for the fit, hike. There is a restaurant and shops at the top. Enjoy the 360 degree of all that the Cape has to offer.
Boulders Beach
Visit the penguins at Boulders Beach in Simon’s Town. You will find a large colony of African penguins in their sandy and forest coves enjoying their safe space. There are walkways and many viewing decks to see the happy feet moving around or even catching a surf.
Wine Tasting
Cape Town is home to many wine regions. The closest to Bluemari’s Retreat is Constantia. You will find over 10 estates from the oldest, Groot Constantia to the social, Constantia Glen. You can also venture out to Stellenbosch or Franschhoek between an hour and ninety minutes’ drive away for our world-famous wines and bubbles.
Robben Island
Best known for the incarceration of Nelson Mandela and other freedom fighters during the Apartheid Era. A humbling trip down South Africa’s darkest decades. All tours are led by a former prisoner. Boats leave daily from V&A Waterfront.
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens
Regarded one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. It is nestled at the base of Table Mountain. You can take a picnic, enjoy a slow walk or hike up the mountain from this 528 hectare estate. There is a diverse array of flora and of course, fynbos. There are Sunday sunset concerts in the Summer.
